Overclocking refers to the technique of increasing your processors speed form the specified limit so as to make it run even faster. In this Overclocking process we try to increase the speed of the processor by changing some of its parameters from the rated ones. The overclocking also couldn’t be done on each and every processor but some specific one of them. There are many parameters through which you can change the speed of your Processors that is by changing the Front Side Bus (FSB) speed, Base Clock Speed or the CPU Multiplier value.
But the main problem which arises in having doing so is that while making to run your processor at higher speed than the rated one there generates a lot of extra heat that a normal Heat Sink finds it hard to radiate. Another problem is that there should be an efficient Power Supply Unit which must provide a propped constant voltage with higher wattage. Always look for these two things before having to go for overclocking. One more thing matters is that many a time it is seen that the overclocking process works for some processor and it may not work for someone. In other words you can say that even if increasing the speed by this method the performance or the speed of the Process increases a little.
